Ni’mati Dmeiry
Information and Office Manager
Ni’mati Dmeiry, the Information and Office Manager, holds a Bachelor’s in German as a Foreign Language and Business Administration, and a Master’s in Nonprofit Management and Leadership from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Starting as a student assistant in 2019, Ni’mati has shown remarkable dedication and expertise. She progressed to the role of a Programme Assistant before being promoted to her current position as the Information and Office Manager. In her current capacity, she assumes a pivotal role in overseeing all administrative operations, including administration, consultations, marketing, and scholarship selection.

Muna Nusseibeh
Programme Assistant
Muna Nusseibeh, our Programme Assistant and former DAAD scholarship holder. With a B.A. in Islamic Studies and Jewish Studies from Eberhard-Karls-University, Tübingen, Muna is committed to fostering intercultural dialogue. She leverages her expertise in consultancy, research, and social media to manage our online presence, overseeing the website and social media channels. Muna also plays a vital role in coordinating and supporting our office’s events.

DAAD at Birzeit University
Anja Zorob
DAAD Longterm Lecturer
Anja Zorob is an associate professor for Political Science associate at Birzeit University. She has been a research fellow and taught courses so far at different institutions and departments, including Muwatin Institute for Democracy and Human Rights, Ibrahim Abu-Lughod Institute of International Studies, the Master Program Israeli Studies and the Faculty of Law and Public Administration. In addition, she assists the Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs at BZU. She also informs and advises students, scientists and administrators on scholarships, funding programs and opportunities for cooperation with German universities. She studied in Freiburg, Damascus and Bochum and received her PhD in Contemporary Research on the Middle East from Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg. She has been working in different positions at, among others, the Institute of Development Research and Development Policy (IEE) at Ruhr-Universität Bochum (RUB), the Center for Middle Eastern and North African Studies, Freie Universität Berlin, and the German Institute of Global and Area Studies (GIGA) in Hamburg. Her research interests include regional trade and integration, economic development and the political economy of Arab countries, peace and conflict in the Middle East, and European Foreign Policy focusing on the Mediterranean and Southern Neighbourhood specifically in the fields of trade, development cooperation, and flight and migration.

DAAD at Al-Quds University
Nicole Steinsiepen
DAAD Lecturer
Since September 2021 Nicole Steinsiepen works as a DAAD Lecturer at Al-Quds University in Jerusalem. From 2011 to 2016 she studied “International Literature” and “Languages, History and Cultures of the Middle East” at the University of Tübingen (B.A.). She then began her master’s degree in “German as a Foreign/ Second Language and Intercultural German Studies” at the University of Freiburg, which she successfully completed in the summer of 2019. During her studies, Ms. Steinsiepen worked as a research assistant at the chair for “Modern German Literature”. From 2019 to 2021 Nicole Steinsiepen was a DAAD teaching assistant in the Department of European languages at the University of Jordan.

DAAD at Bethlehem University
Dr. Jutta Häser
DAAD Longterm Lecturer
DAAD Longterm Lecturer: Dr. Jutta Häser is assistant professor at the Bethlehem University where she teaches Near Eastern Archaeology and Cultural Heritage at the Humanities Department. She studied Near Eastern Archaeology, Prehistory, Cuneiform Studies and Archaeometry in Göttingen, Aarhus/Denmark and Berlin. She carried out interdisciplinary research in Germany, Italy, Sudan and various countries in the Middle East. She worked as research assistant for the German Institute of Archaeology in Berlin and as director and project manager for the German Protestant Institute of Archaeology in the Holy Land in Amman. Her main research interest is long-term settlement history during the Bronze and Iron Ages as well as the Byzantine and Early Islamic period.
