For Parents: 15 Questions and Answers

© Lina Diap

Studying abroad is not an easy step to decide either for parents or for students.  As an idea it might sound very interesting and fun but in reality is very challenging choice.

As a parent, many questions will pop up in your mind if you decided to send your son/daughter to study abroad for instance, where will he/she live? How much shall we, as parents, provide them per month? Which university shall they visit? Could they find work next to their studies? What if they get sick? How would they be treated as foreign student in the university? And many other questions that could be endless.

DAAD is keen to answer big part of the above mentioned questions and to clarify other concerns raised by parents to the DAAD counseling staff.

In this brochure, parents will learn more about the benefits of studying abroad, why Germany is the right choice for their children to pursue their studies there and get to know some success stories told by previous DAAD scholars and their parents.

For that reason, this brochure is published in several languages to target not only students who are interested to continue their study abroad but also to target their parents who want to make sure that their children will be safe and sound abroad.

The brochure is available in German, English and Arabic versions.
